This website contains ideas and thoughts based on my own experiences as a teacher in the Adult and Skills Sector of many years here in and around the UK. It has particular reference to e-learning, the possibilities of which has constantly inspired me in my teaching and given me the ability to have an ongoing conversation with students, fellow teachers and those that manage us on how to make learning more interesting, profound, fun, and comprehensive. Follow my blog here and explore the thinking in the articles attached on the current big themes in education. I have included a library of previous reference work for wider consideration.
Thanks for visiting my pages and I hope you find them thought provoking.
A bit more about me...
In 2009 I won the National STAR Award in the Innovation category for my work in developing personal learning spaces for learning and supporting staff with e-learning. I want to continue thinking about the new challenges thrown up by the possibility of bending technologies of effective teaching and learning and helping teachers think about and prepare to use them. I am a qualified FE teacher, with over 20 years of teaching experience. I teach at Canterbury Christ Church University on the PGCE as well as support a number of FE colleges in their e-leanring strategy and with teacher professional development. I have also worked with BECTA, The Insitute for Learning, The British Council and as an LSIS Associate. and occasionally work with JISC, The Education and Training Foundation. and Society for Education and Training,
